Bossy Girl!

The neighborhood girls were making up a dance. Whose kid is the bossiest? And listen for cute Brandon. "I wish I was in this show!"

Memories of George Carlin

I probably don't seem to be the George Carlin type. You are absolutely correct. He wasn't my favorite person to listen to. Potty mouthed and all. :) So why am I sharing my memories? He was my neighbor growing up!!! Click on the map to see where we lived.

The funny thing about that is I totally forgot. When all this hype was made about his passing this week, I wondered why the name George Carlin hit something in my mind. Oh yeah! Duh! We lived in Bel Air until I was 12, so it's not like I remember him. So, here are my memories of George Carlin.

Firstly, my best friend across the street (the house that backs his) had a dog named Boomer. I LOVED this dog. He was poisoned by SOMEONE over the fence and died. hmmm.

Secondly, that house had so many parties. So many. And they were filthy, nasty, repulsive parties. Of course. Wasn't it George Carlin who opened the first SNL broadcast on TV and said he was high on Cocaine that whole week? The parties were so bad that my friend's brother, Barry, used to watch over the wall. And he wouldn't let his dad see. They were ronchy.

I suppose it wasn't the best neighborhood for kids, eh?

Finally

I have been so nervous to go to the gym again, scared to get my butt licked! I finally went to spin class today. The first of my new schedule or fitness. With my non dairy, non wheat diet (from nursing Alexa'a possible allergies) hopefully I look better soon!!!

Happy 2 Months, Alexa!

I can't believe that my little one is 2 months already (actually it was on Monday.)The time is flying by!!!
Alexa is so darling, I wish you could all see her. She loves to babble. All day long she is talking and I have no clue who she gets that from. :) I love her chubby legs and her big brown eyes. Her smiles are contageous. Brandon is always saying, "Everyone loves my baby." It's true. Everyone loves his baby. Alexa also has long hair that sticks STRAIGHT up. Can you tell by the pic? It won't stay down for anything, although gell gives it a little more wave!!

Her nickname is NeNe (Nay Nay). This has nothing to do with a horse, either. When she cries she says Nay Nay over and over again. Nene is also baby in portuguese. Brandon and I started calling her that when she was doing that funny cry, and it stuck.

We went back to the Dr. yesterday to have her checked again. She is still having blood in her stool. The Dr. does't really think it is an ulcer like the Urgent Care did. Well, he didn't actually SAY that, but it was surely implied. So, we may have to take her to a GI specialist if it happens 3 more times. We're hoping that Zantac kicks in really quick!!!

For having tummy troubles, she is a fabulous baby. She is usually SOOOO happy and smiley. And for the record, she is now 10 lbs, 9 oz!!!!

Late dad's day

I have wanted to post something about Ryan for a couple of days, but only got a photo snapped last night. I really wanted to thank him for being the best dad ever! He always puts his family first - nothing is more important. He loves his kids so much and they love him, too. I am so lucky to have him as my husband. Love you babe!!!

Amazing Jakes

We had a great time at Amazing Jakes on Monday. Our great friends that live across the street invited us to Jim's work day. It only cost $25 for all of us, and that included dinner. What a blast! I have to say after a couple of hours I was SOOOO tired. I can only handle that stress and noise for so long before I become SUPER grouchy. I don't handle Disneyland very well, either. My friend Brittany does great with 7 kids there, she is such a calm, easy going mom. Maybe I should pay her to take mine next time!!! What do you think, Britt?

Spoiled Rotten

This week Ryan's grandma has been in town to spoil the kids. She has taken them out to breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every day. She has taken them to Wal-Mart and let them pick whatever they wanted. She even took me to the mall and bought me an outfit!!! And, the kids think she is an ATM as she is continuously giving them cash. They are loving EVERY MINUTE of it! We are so happy to have here, and I'm sure Alexa loves being held every moment of the day, as well.

Baby Ulcer

Did you know that a baby can have an ulcer? Mine happens to have one! Yesterday she had whole bunch of blood in her poop. (Warning: Graphic poop description coming up!) It was old, brown blood, not new red blood. Upper GI apparently.
So, I took the baby and the diaper into the pediatric urgent care to check them out. (Of course, my Dr. was out of town!) You could smell that nasty thing all over the office!!!

Alexa was so good. She just lay there, smiling and cooing while they gave her a full examination. She captures hearts, that for sure!!!

Anyway, that's what it turns out she has! An Ulcer! Now, she is on medication for it. It's the same stuff they put you on for reflux (which she also has!)

So after performing so well, we returned home for a few screaming fests and her (and my!!!) first terrible night of sleep she's been born! Have any of you ever given Zantac to your kids? Does it cause sleeping problems? PLEASE SAY NO!!!

Am I certain?

Do you all know who Kirby Heyborne is? He starred in those Mormon flicks like the RM and Singles Ward. Since, he has branched out and is a recording artist, been on Pirates, etc. He even used to be in our ward when we first got married. We weren't really friends, but we knew Trish and Kirby.

ANYWAY, I SWEAR I saw him in a beer commercial! What in the heck?
There will be some very disappointed groupies out there. I think it was Bud Light.

So here is my question. Would you be in a beer commercial even if you didn't have to drink beer in the shoot?

Rest in Peace, Catty

Today Brandon was VERY sad (as you can see) because he lost one of his best friends, the catterpillar he found yesterday. He was SOOOO sad. Ainsley and Brandon found him outside yesterday and put him in a cup with leaves, excited about him turning into a butterfly. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

Brandon is so sweet. He came in absolutely depressed, crying, bawling. We had to wrap him in a leaf and bury him in the back yard. Brandon gave him a eulogy. It kind of reminded me of the office when Michael was so upset about the bird that flew into the door and died. Brandon's eulogy went something like this, "I am going to miss catty. sob sob sob. He was so cute and sweet. All he liked to do was wiggle and now he is dead. sob sob sob. I loved him. Heavenly Father will make him come back alive again. sob sob sob. He will eat his way through this leaf and be my friend again some day. I will miss him. sob sob sob." Any time someone mentions it, he cries again. It was another big deal when Ryan came home from work. He said he would buy him some more catterpillars, but that brought on new tears, because no one can replace catty.

What a sweet boy.

3 Things I wish I had with my other 2 kids...

I was thinking just this morning about how different things are with this baby than with the other two. Of course, we have aren't poor and in school, so she is a bit more spoiled. I can afford to buy nicer things. But, I also know more. And have more resources to find out what is great!

So, here are my top 3 FAVORITE things I didn't have with the other two.

First is the Mustela baby care line. This stuff is awesome! This foam pump shampoo totally prevents cradle cap. I've never had a kid without peeling scalp!

Next is the peanut shell. I love this sling. I never thought I would be a sling mom, those other kind intimidated me! But this is easy and I love it!

Lastly, I don't have a picture of it, but it is this baby bean bag I was given. It is washable (yay!) and is supposed to be a SIDS preventor. This is so comfy, I swear it contributes to Alexa sleeping so well. I love it.

If you guys have any faves you think I should try out, let me know! I'm looking for something to stop stuffy noses for sure!
