We have always had a house full of children. I can't remember ever NOT having at least ten kids over.
Since we moved, however, things have changed. It's just us. I would describe it as serene. Refreshing. The kids will describe it as boring.
I get that. I know how it is to want - no NEED - friends to come over. It's an important part of growing up. So Ryan told the kids they could have an ice cream sundae party and invite kids from school, church, and the neighborhood. (Easy enough for him to offer! He's at work! :) )
So after much beggin and pleading, I agreed. Here is the set up. Ainsley and I used my new Silhouette to conjure up a million fun things like invitations, banners, and hanging cones and popsicles. (Have I not mentioned that I bought one of those fun toys? I will have to post about that soon!)
Here is the low-down on the food. (minus 5 gallons of ice cream and 2 cans of whipping cream.) Sprinkles, Gummy Bears, cookies, strawberries, cones, chocolate sauce, caramel, and some sort of random cupcake sauce. mmmmm.

We hosted this party right after school so anyone who wanted to walk home with my kids could. Of course they were all hot and starving! We ended up with over 20 kids! I was shocked and pleased. They all stayed and played (and tore apart my house and terrorized the cat) for about an hour. The neighbor kids stayed till dinner and I officially call it a success!
Bye bye peace and quiet!
