Ainsley had her 7th birthday party at a bowling alley, followed by a slumber party. Way fun!!!! We had only 3 girls invited, so she got to do something REALLY fun, and they all got matching outfits thanks to the Old Navy 40% off sale. Next year she said she'll pick more presents, less party. :)
I accidentally let my good camera's battery die, so the pics aren't that great. Whoops!

Bragging again!
So, don't read this if you don't want to see my bragging! This is my only form of journalling, so I have to add in a few great things about my kids. :)
I had parent/teacher conference with Ainsley's teacher. She asked if Ainsley gets her drive, organization and do-it-now personality from me. hahaha. That is hilarious. NO! Of course it comes from her dad, some of the things I love about him!!! Me, I'm flighty.
Anyway, like always, she got straight 100% scores all the way down the board. It's all she ever gets! She is at a 4th grade, 3rd month reading and spelling level (however exaggerated these scales are, I don't know!) It's funny how such a quirky, smart-mouthed child can be the perfect student at school, with never a problem. At 6, she is driven by bribery, so if she gets on the A team every term, the whole family gets to go miniature golfing together. Something we NEVER do, except on the cruise. 2 more terms to go out of 6!
So, of course we are happy as ever that we switched her to the charter school. It's proved to be a better environment for her. We'll see if we end up keeping Brandon there next year. His personality is a little more like mine!!!

Birthday surprise
We bought the kids this cool airplane teeter totter for a birthday surprise. It was supposed to take "about an hour" to assemble, however, it pretty much took Ryan and I all day. :) The kids had a ball playing, and since it holds 7 kids, they invited a bunch of neighbors to come enjoy it, too. I hope it was worth it!

Ryan is giving me a hard time
Ryan is bugging me to post mine, so here it is...I warned you. It's not very good...
Ryan's Morph
When my friend Kary did her celeb morph, I thought I would do my own. Maybe I would get someone cool like Catherine Zeta-Jones, or Angelina Jolie. NNOOOO. It said I look most like Brittney Spears!!! What??? So I posted Ryan's instead. Funny, huh?
Happy Valentines Day!
I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! I had to share the fact that Ryan actually had roses DELIVERED to me! (Not Costco!) This is the first time in over 10 years of marriage. Actually, I had some delivered when Brandon was born and when my dad died, but they weren't from him. They are very pretty and I was shocked!!! I am grateful for my valentine. He is the best and I love him so much.
On the love kick, I just finished the Stephenie Meyers series and (sorry to you fans out there!) HATED it. I guess it was a love/hate thing. I was absorbed in it, and felt it was pretty well written, but HATED the main character! I cannot stand the whole helpless female role. It was like she couldn't make her own choices, love just found her and there was nothing she could do about it. Do we not all choose to love who we love? (Before we disagree, remember Elder Oaks' remarks last week!!!) Anyway, I am NOT a helpless romantic. So now, I am bugged. Does anyone else feel this way or are you all fans?

First Goal
Ainsley scored the first goal of the season today, within the first 2 minutes of the game. She got the "Blue Ice" off to a great start and they shut out the Red Rockets. I actually felt kind of bad for the other team. :)
We've opted out of soccer for Brandon. He's not great at the team sport thing. We are going to try T-Ball in April and see if he does a little better at that.
He certainly made me laugh this week. We were playing pirates on Monday (he was home sick from pre-school.) He made me say things like "bunker down the hatches"??? and "Argh Matey." After we saw land (my bed was the pirate ship), shouted "Land HO!" and let down the anchor, we had to tiptoe past the rats so as not to get scurvy, then look for an X, which marks the spot. Where do all these details come from?
It's funny the 180 degree differences between the two kids. What will this next one be like?
